Outstanding examination results

Mt St Patrick College has consistently achieved above average results in the School Certificate and Higher School Certificate Examinations. All subjects have students placed in the highest bands with an increasing number of subjects having no students in the lowest two bands. This means that the great majority of students at Mt St Patrick College achieve very pleasing results in their external examinations.  In the Higher School Certificate, the College has always had students in the top 10% in the State in the University Admissions Index (UAI) with, on average, approximately 60% of students receive a University offer (twice the State average).  In the 2005 Higher School Certificate, 25% of Mt St Patrick College students received a Band 6 in Information Processes and Technology compared to 6.94% of the State. No students received a Band 1 or 2 in this particular subject.

In the 2005 School Certificate Science Examination, 58.48% of students received a mark of 80 or above (Band 5 or 6) compared to 31.4% of the State, an outstanding result.

Achieving success

At Mt St Patrick College we endeavour to make education an exciting adventure and believe that every person is a “work in progress”. Education is an ongoing journey which is much more than the Higher School Certificate. A quality Catholic education is about learning specific content and also about learning to live life in a particular way.  We nurture strong religious and personal values in our students so that they may serve the common good. Our College motto in hoc signo spec mea (in this sign is my hope) inspires our community to live life to the full.
